David Beermann (*1979, Aachen) lives in Hamburg and works as a digital media artist. Educated as a communication designer and being an autodidact programmer, he traverses the space between technological concreteness and creative imagination.
He critically explores digital trends, translating them into objects and installations which constitute artistic comments on the interaction between humans and technology. His mission is to make technology accessible by uncovering its underlying implications. Through his work, he seeks to reevaluate encoded standards, conventions and tendencies in order to consciously progress into a future which is entangled in digital devices.
David Beermann is currently studying at the University of the Arts, Bremen in the Digital Media program pursuing his Masters degree. Before returning to university, he worked as a freelance interaction designer and application developer for ad agencies, companies and individuals.
